Pensacola State College hosted the AFC Region I Conference in May, bringing colleagues together for a day of connection and professional development. As part of the event, attendees rallied around a meaningful cause — the college’s Pirate Cares Pantry received 55 donations, consisting primarily of household items.
The Pirate Pantry is part of PSC’s broader Pirates CARE Student Resource Center, which serves as a one-stop shop for students facing challenges beyond the classroom. The center provides free services including food pantries, career clothing closets, emergency aid, and confidential mental health counseling — all aimed at helping students stay focused on their academic success. Through partnerships with organizations like Manna and donations from the PSC community, students can visit the pantry twice a month to access food and personal hygiene items. Every PSC campus has a pantry location.
Donations from AFC conference attendees directly support this mission and the students who depend on it.
