Webinar Wednesday: Boosting Campus Impact

June 10 @ 11:00 am 12:00 pm UTC-4

College government relations and communications offices play a critical role in ensuring their institutions are visible, relevant, and trusted within the communities they serve. This workshop, hosted in conjunction with the Communications and Marketing Learning Community, will help college professionals develop a strategic approach to raising their institution’s local profile by helping them identify thematic focus areas that reflect both institutional strengths and community needs.

Participants will discuss how to align these themes with ongoing local conversations, proactively build relationships with local news outlets, and position faculty, students, and institutional leaders as reliable sources on issues that matter to the region. The session will also explore how to map local media ecosystems, including newspapers, business journals, radio, podcasts, and community newsletters, to identify consistent opportunities for visibility. Beyond traditional media relations, the workshop will focus on expanding institutional presence through community-facing channels, including business and civic organizations, credible ambassadors, and authentic community engagement opportunities that reinforce the college’s value.

Registration is required to attend.
