AI is changing quickly, and college professionals are trying to make thoughtful decisions without having complete clarity about the tools, the risks, or the rules. This session offers a practical way to move forward without pretending that uncertainty has disappeared.

Participants will learn to identify what kind of uncertainty they are facing, recognize the professional skills they already use to navigate unfamiliar situations, and choose one manageable AI experiment that fits their role and comfort level. The session is designed for participants at a range of experience levels and focuses less on mastering a particular tool than on building confidence, judgment, and a human-centered path forward.

About the Presenter:

Anna Haney-Withrow is the Director of the Institute of Innovative and Emerging Technologies at Florida SouthWestern State College. With a rich background in education, instructional design, and technology integration, she is passionate about using AI and emerging tools to create engaging and equitable learning experiences. Anna has over a decade of experience in teaching, faculty development, and educational leadership, bringing innovative approaches to the classroom and beyond. She believes in the power of human-centered learning, ensuring that technology enhances—rather than replaces—the role of educators. When she’s not shaping the future of higher ed, she’s helping faculty embrace AI, exploring the intersection of technology and creativity, and championing collaboration in education.
