High Impact Practices (HIPs) are not just buzzwords. They are game changers for student success. But how do you actually begin building the support and programs to make them a reality on your campus?
In only one year, Seminole State College went from blueprint to breakthrough with High Impact Practices, and now they are ready to share the playbook with you. This session showed how collaboration and buy in can turn HIPs from theory into reality.
Attendees gained practical insight into Seminole State’s full HIPs implementation journey, including faculty-driven taxonomies and course designation processes, a faculty ambassador model to champion HIPs across campus, strategies for building cross-campus collaboration and leadership buy-in, how to use data to drive decisions and sustain programming, and a student showcase event model that brings HIPs to life.
When colleges implement HIPs intentionally and at scale, research consistently shows meaningful benefits for students, including increased engagement, improved retention, and stronger academic outcomes.
